SOUNDGARDEN Performs Surprise Set During CHRIS CORNELL's Hurricane Sandy Benefit Concert

November 13, 2012

SOUNDGARDEN singer Chris Cornell played an acoustic benefit concert last night (Monday, November 12) at New York City's Bowery Ballroom, with all proceeds going to the Mayor's Fund to Advance New York City to help victims of Hurricane Sandy.

Cornell's SOUNDGARDEN bandmates surprised fans in attendance by joining Cornell on stage to perform six SOUNDGARDEN songs: "Fell On Black Days", "Black Saturday", "Blow Up the Outside World", "Halfway There", "Black Hole Sun" and "Outshined".

Fan-filmed footage of the "Black Saturday" performance can be seen below.

SOUNDGARDEN releases its first album in 16 years, titled "King Animal", on Tuesday (November 13). The disc is the first collection of all-new studio material since 1996's "Down On The Upside" and the first fresh recordings by the legendary Seattle grunge act since they reunited in 2010.

SOUNDGARDEN will play three "intimate" North American shows this month to celebrate the release of "King Animal", in New York City on Tuesday, in Toronto on November 16 and in Los Angeles on November 27.
