September 5, 2014

SOUNDGARDEN helped kick off the 2014 National Football League season by performing on Thursday, September 4 outside Seattle's CenturyLink Field as part of the 2014 NFL Kickoff. The free performance took place before the game between the Seahawks and Green Bay Packers and was seen on the 60-minute pre-game show airing from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. PT on NBC and the NFL network.

Fan-filmed video footage of SOUNDGARDEN's set can be seen below.

Also scheduled to appear at yesterday's event was Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter, rapper, and record producer Pharrell Williams.

SOUNDGARDEN's co-headlining summer trek with NINE INCH NAILS, which kicked off on July 19 in Las Vegas, concluded on August 30 in Auburn, Washington.

SOUNDGARDEN's breakthrough 1994 album, "Superunknown", was reissued in June in a deluxe 20th anniversary edition featuring a remastered version of the album and plenty of bonus content like rarities, demo tracks and B-sides.

The reissue sold 5,700 copies in the U.S. in its first week of release to land at No. 51 on The Billboard 200 chart.

The band has been performing the album in its entirety at selected shows this year.
