SOILWORK To Enter Studio In September

June 2, 2004

Swedish melodic death thrashers SOILWORK will enter Studio Kuling in Örebro, Sweden on September 13 with producer Daniel Bergstrand (MESHUGGAH, IN FLAMES, STRAPPING YOUNG LAD) to begin recording their sixth album, tentatively due in early 2005 through Nuclear Blast Records.

"The new material sounds very promising," SOILWORK vocalist Björn "Speed" Strid writes on the group's web site. "In my ears it sounds like a mixture between 'Natural Born Chaos' (2002) and our latest effort, 'Figure Number Five' (2003) with a slight and interesting development, I'm sure it will please your ears as well when it's getting released in January/February 2005... Have patience... Until then we hope to see you on some of the festivals we're playing this summer and don't miss to check out the upcoming movie 'Alone in the Dark' (web site) (starring Christian Slater etc.) [to] which we're contributing a song from our latest album."

In other news, Strid has announced that he will be getting married to his "beloved" Nanami Aisaka on September 4. Congratulations go out to the happy couple.

Upcoming SOILWORK shows:

Jun. 10 - Aerodrome, WR. – Neustadt, AUT
Jul. 02 - With Full Force – Lobnitz, GER
Jul. 03 – Roskilde – Roskilde, DEN
Jul. 17 - Tuska Festival – Helsinki, FIN
