SOILWORK: 'The Living Infinite' First-Week Sales Revealed

"The Living Infinite", the ninth studio and first dual-disc album by Swedish melodic metal band SOILWORK, sold around 7,800 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 60 on The Billboard 200 chart. The effort also landed at No. 11 on the Independent Albums chart, and No. 2 on the Hard Music chart. "The Living Infinite" entered the iTunes Metal Top Albums chart at No. 1 and was the No. 1 most added album on the CMJ radio chart.

SOILWORK's 2010 album, "The Panic Broadcast", sold around 5,300 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 88 on The Billboard 200 chart.

The band's 2007 CD, "Sworn to a Great Divide", opened with 5,000 units to land at No. 148.

Checking in from The Trocadero in Philadelphia during the band's current headlining tour, SOILWORK vocalist Björn "Speed" Strid had the following to say about the multi-chart news: "We are so stoked to see the incredible success of our new album 'The Living Infinite'! Landing this high on the Billboard chart is simply amazing! It's our highest chart position in the USA ever... and being #1 on the iTunes Metal charts is also jaw-dropping for sure!

"We wanna extend a huge thank you to everyone who bought our new album, digitally or physically! Everyone seems to love it and we can't wait to hit your town on our current North American tour and perform the new songs for you live! Thank you all for your amazing support!!!"

"The Living Infinite" was produced by Jens Bogren (OPETH, AMON AMARTH, BLOODBATH) and boasts artwork by MNEMIC's Mircea Gabriel Eftemie. The CD features Justin Sullivan — lead singer of the English band NEW MODEL ARMY — as a guest vocalist on the track "The Windswept Mercy" and also marks the recording debut of longtime SOILWORK touring guitarist David Andersson (also of THE NIGHT FLIGHT ORCHESTRA).
