Mary V. Crahan, the mother of SLIPKNOT percussionist Shawn "Clown" Crahan, passed away this past weekend at the age of 64. "No preaching from me, but spend as much time as you can with your parents! Time moves very fast!" Shawn wrote in an online posting.According to the band, "Clown plans to return to the road shortly and appreciates everyone's understanding about his absence at the recent shows." Fan-filmed video footage of Taylor addressing Clown absence during the band's May 1, 2009 concert in Toronto, Ontario can be viewed below. Crahan previously missed several SLIPKNOT shows because his wife is ill with Crohn's disease. In a 2005 interview with the Des Moines Register, Crahan spoke about his wife's illness. He said, "Right now has definitely been the hardest time in my life...health is the most important thing you have on this planet if you're gonna have a successful life." Crahan added that balancing family and band responsibilities has been one of his goals throughout his career: "That's the thing I fight for most in this biz, is family. I've been married 12 years, and my wife has let me do SLIPKNOT for 10...Family can and is being incorporated into rock 'n' roll. You can have a wife, you can have a child or children and be a rock 'n' roller."
