SLIPKNOT Guitarist Breaks Wrist, Is Forced To Sit Out U.S. Tour

October 16, 2005

SLIPKNOT guitarist Jim Root has reportedly been forced to sit out the early part of the band's current "Subliminal Verses Tour: The Final Volume" after breaking his wrist a couple of days prior to the tour's kick-off on Friday, October 14 in Cincinnati, Ohio. At last night's (Oct. 15) show in Grand Rapids, MI, SLIPKNOT singer Corey Taylor explained the reason for Root's absence before adding, "We had two options, so we have decided to go on playing without Jim... because there is no fucking way we are going to cancel the show!"

According to one attendee, SLIPKNOT, minus one, again proved they are one of the greatest live acts ever, ripping through classics like "Spit It Out", "Disasterpieces", "People=Shit", and "The Blister Exists". No details were given on when Root would return.

On another note, LAMB OF GOD vocalist Randy Blythe joined openers UNEARTH during their set in Grand Rapids, singing along with UNEARTH frontman Trevor Phipps.

SLIPKNOT's live album, "9.0: Live" album, is scheduled for release on November 1 via Roadrunner Records (one day earlier internationally). The band will be signing copies of the CD on Tuesday, November 1 at the Best Buy store in New York City's Times Square (519 5th Ave at 44th Street). This unique first-come-first-served event begins promptly at 5 p.m. so make sure to be there early.
