SIX FEET UNDER: 'Christmas Metal Meeting' Tour Canceled

Florida-based death metallers SIX FEET UNDER have canceled their "Christmas Metal Meeting" tour which was supposed to kick off today (Wednesday, December 1) in Cologne, Germany.

Commented vocalist Chris Barnes: "Circumstances and events beyond our control has forced the cancellation of our December tour in Europe. We are deeply aware of the burden this puts on our loyal fans and we apologize. We live to play in front of our fans and our commitment to our European fans could not be stronger. You have always been there for SIX FEET UNDER and we do not take that for granted. You are important to US! In April 2011 we will do a tour of Europe to support our new DVD, 'Wake The Night! Live In Germany'. We will make as many of these canceled dates as possible while adding many more. Thank you for understanding but more importantly, thanks for supporting SIX FEET UNDER."

The third installment of SIX FEET UNDER's cover series, "Graveyard Classics 3", sold around 800 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at position No. 31 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

Released on January 19 via Metal Blade Records, "Graveyard Classics 3" was recorded at D.O.I. Digital Audio in Tampa, Florida, was mixed at Audiohammer Studios by Mark Lewis, and was produced by vocalist Chris Barnes.

SIX FEET UNDER covered AC/DC's entire "Back In Black" album for "Graveyard Classics 2", which came out in October 2004.

The original "Graveyard Classics" LP, was released in October 2000. It included cover versions of BLACK SABBATH's "Sweet Leaf", DEEP PURPLE's "Smoke on the Water" and JIMI HENDRIX's "Purple Haze".
