SIRENIA: First Performance Footage With New Singer Posted Online

July 18, 2008

Fan-filmed video footage of the Norwegian gothic metal band SIRENIA — featuring the band's latest addition, 25-year-old Spanish singer Ailyn (born: Pilar Giménez García) — performing the song "The Other Side" on July 10, 2008 at the Masters Of Rock festival in Vizovice, Czech Republic can be viewed below (clip uploaded by YouTube user "ShapeCZ").

SIRENIA will enter the studio later this month to begin recording its new album for an early 2009 release via Nuclear Blast Records. The CD will be tracked at Sound Suite Studios in France and Stargoth Studios in Norway while the mixing and mastering sessions will take place at the Antfarm Studios in Denmark with Tue Madsen.

SIRENIA recruited Ailyn as the replacement for Monika Pedersen, who left the group last fall after only one album due to "musical differences."

Ailyn is best known as a member of the young team in the Spanish version of "The X Factor", the biggest television talent competition in Europe.

SIRENIA's latest album, "Nine Destinies and a Downfall", entered the German Media Control chart in March 2007 at position No. 54.
