SHOK PARIS To Perform Live In Chicago For The First Time In 25 Years

May 4, 2013

Cleveland, Ohio metallers SHOK PARIS will co-headline the second night of the Ragnarökkr Metal Apocalypse festival, set to take place May 3-4, 2013 at Reggie's in Chicago, Illinois. It will mark the band's first appearance in Chicago in over 25 years.

"The last time we played Chicago was to a packed house at The Metro back in 1987 on our 'Steel And Starlight' tour with LIZZY BORDEN," says SHOK PARIS guitarist Ken Erb. "We also visited there with SAVATAGE on their 'Hall Of The Mountain King' tour. I have nothing but great memories of our trips to the Windy City. One thing that hasn't changed in the last quarter century is SHOK PARIS' unique style of heavy metal. We will be playing all the favorites from our first three albums ('Go For The Throat', 'Steel And Starlight', 'Concrete Killers') as well as new material from our forthcoming release, 'Full Metal Jacket'. We are very excited to finally be going back!".

"Wow, 25 years since our last show in Chicago, it's been way too long my friends", adds SHOK PARIS vocalist Vic Hix. "The Metal Apocalypse show is the best way to come back and 'Shok Chicago' with some classic SHOK PARIS heavy metal. I would not want to miss this one. It's gonna rock, so see ya there!"

Auburn Records released a digital single for "Those Eyes" last year via iTunes and other major digital retailers. It was the band's first commercially available new music in 23 years.

"The big question we keep getting asked is when is the new album coming out?", says Erb. "This is understandable since it has been in the works for quite some time now. All I can say is, be prepared for some classic SHOK. We are finishing up pre-production demos on 20 new songs Vic and I have written. We will be ready to start recording 10-12 of those this summer. Even though we have a different rhythm section from our '80s lineup, I feel these guys have risen to the occasion to help bring the new material up to and beyond the standards of the classic SHOK lineup."

SHOK PARIS is:

Vic Hix - Vocals
Ken Erb - Guitar
John Korzekwa - Guitar
Ed Stephens - Bass
Donovan Kenaga - Drums
