Swedish extreme metallers SHINING have been confirmed to support SATYRICON on the upcoming European tour. The 17-date trek, set to start on December 2, also includes NEGURA BUNGET and DARK FORTRESS.

Commented SHINING frontman Niklas Kvarforth said, "We are all too aware of the fact that a lot of fans were disappointed by the [recent cancellation of SHINING's European headlining tour], but hopefully the tour with SATYRICON will go some way towards making up for it. We are also looking at a lot of possibilities for next year at the moment, so be prepared for SHINING and 2010."

SHINING recently returned to the Slaughterhouse studios to begin work on its seventh album, "Shining VII". According to the band, the CD "will take a different direction from that taken" on "VI / Klagopsalmer", which came out last month via Osmose Productions. It was made available on CD, gatefold double LP, limited colored LP and picture disc LP. The effort was recorded at The Slaughterhouse studios with producer Rickard Bengtsson.

SHINING has inked a deal with Norway's Indie Recordings for the release of two full-length albums and the first-ever DVD from the band.

Fan-filmed video footage of SHINING's performance at this year's Brutal Assault festival — which was held August 6-8, 2009 in Pevnost, Josefov, Czech Republic — can be viewed below.
