SHINEDOWN: 'The Sound Of Madness' Release Date Announced

April 23, 2008

Atlantic recording group SHINEDOWN has announced early details of its much-anticipated third album, entitled "The Sound Of Madness". The collection produced by multiple Grammy Award winner Rob Cavallo (KID ROCK, GREEN DAY, MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE) will arrive in stores and at online retailers on June 24.

"The Sound Of Madness" will be preceded by the lead single "Devour". The track will land at online retailers and multi-format rock radio outlets nationwide on May 5. In addition, "Devour" will serve as the theme song to World Wrestling Entertainment's June pay-per-view, "Night of Champions", slated for June 29. The single will also be featured on ESPN throughout the current major league baseball season, and will be included on the soundtrack to EA Sports' "Madden NFL 09" video game.

The Jacksonville, Florida-based rock outfit has lined up a number of upcoming live dates, including headline shows and festival performances. The itinerary kicks off with a hometown co-headlining slot at Band Camp 2008, set for Friday, May 9 at the Jacksonville Equestrian Center. Also scheduled are appearances at WJJR's Earth Day Birthday at Orlando's Tinker Field on May 10; the 2008 98Rockfest at Tampa's Raymond James Stadium on May 11; the second annual Rock on the Range at Columbus, Ohio's Columbus Crew Stadium on May 17; KPNT 105.7's Pointfest at St. Louis' Verizon Wireless Amphitheater on May 18; and DropFest 2008 at Kaukauna, Wisconsin's Wisconsin International Raceway on June 6. A full-scale North American tour in support of "The Sound Of Madness" will be announced shortly.

"The Sound Of Madness" is unquestionably SHINEDOWN's most powerful work to date. Frontman Brent Smith recently described it as "an explosive re-invention of soundbeyond just being some of heaviest material we've ever recorded, Rob really helped us make the entire album sound larger than life and take on the epic nature that each song demanded."
