VOIVOD's latest, self-titled effort was released on March 4 through Newsted's Chophouse Records in association with Surfdog. SEPULTURA are currently finishing up work on their new album, "Roorback", for a May release through SPV/Steamhammer Records in Europe, JVC Records in Japan, and FNM/Universal Records in Brazil. The group are still negotiating a North American deal following their split with Roadrunner Records early last year.

In related news, VOIVOD bassist Jason Newsted (a.k.a. Jasonic) has issued a personal note apologizing to the group's Canadian fans for the delayed release of the band's new CD in their home country.

The note reads as follows:

"Dear Loyal Canadian VOIVOD Fans,

"As Founder and President of Chophouse Records, I am pleased to inform you that the new VOIVOD album will be available in stores throughout Canada the first week of April 2003. On behalf of VOIVOD, I offer my sincere apology that it has taken us so long to make the new album available in Canada. It has taken us much longer than we anticipated to find the right distributor willing to step up and give the record the proper respect and attention it deserves. I guarantee that it will be worth your wait! See all of you on tour with VOIVOD and Ozzy in Canada in June.

"Keep it Heavy!

"Jason Newsted aka Jasonic"
