SEPULTURA To Film Brazilian Show For Upcoming DVD

November 27, 2004

Brazilian thrashers SEPULTURA have told TotalRock.com that they intend to shoot a show in Brazil for a planned DVD. This will also feature behind-the-scenes footage shot by frontman Derrick Green over the past several years since he joined the band. SEPULTURA will write and record new songs to go with Green's film.

In other news, SEPULTURA guitarist Andreas Kisser recently spoke to RockReview.co.uk about the group's follow-up to 2003's "Roorback", tentatively due next year via SPV Records. Asked what the fan can expect to hear on the upcoming CD, Kisser said, "It's going to be a concept[ual CD] again, it's going to be influenced by a great book, a classic, like 'The Divine Comedy', it's a book that's been represented in lots of different ways in plays, in art. But we're going to do something nowadays, using facts from today, the chaos that we live in pretty much. Musically it's together with that, still very early stages now but it's going to be something short, enough information, not something very long, something that's straight to the point."

With regards to the timetable for the upcoming album, Kisser said, "We have some plans, we're still writing, we'll go back to Brazil in January and February, finish the writing process in those months and depending how things go we will probably release a DVD of live stuff, which we've never done before, especially with Derrick, and maybe do another tour in the summer, in Europe. I think the album will come in the second half of the year, next year."
