SEPULTURA's 'Roots', SOULFLY's Debut Certified Gold

November 21, 2005

Roadrunner Records has announced another round of RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) sales certifications, capping Roadrunner's 25th year of operations.

Announced this week were platinum certifications (signifying a million copies shipped) for NICKELBACK's "All The Right Reasons" as well as gold certifications (signifying 500,000 copies shipped) for SOULFLY's self-titled CD and SEPULTURA's "Roots".

Earlier this year other certifications were given to NICKELBACK, including 6X platinum for "Silver Side Up", 3X platinum for "The Long Road" and platinum for their DVD collection, "The Videos". Additionally SLIPKNOT received 2X platinum certification for their self-titled debut album, 4X platinum for their DVD "Disasterpieces" and 1X platinum for their third album, "Vol. 3 (The Subliminal Verses)". The MTV2 "Headbanger's Ball" compilation was certified gold this year.

In further celebration of Roadrunner's historic success, the label will host an unprecedented all-star concert at New York City's Nokia Theater on December 15. Celebrating the best of the metal genre, the "core band," comprised of Joey Jordison (SLIPKNOT) on drums, Andreas Kisser (SEPULTURA) on lead guitar, Dino Cazares (ex-FEAR FACTORY, BRUJERIA) on rhythm guitar, and Adam Duce (MACHINE HEAD) on bass, will perform 20-25 classic Roadrunner songs and several choice cuts from the "Roadrunner United: The All Star Sessions" album. In addition to the above musicians, some of the special guests to perform will include members of SLIPKNOT, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, TRIVIUM, BIOHAZARD, LIFE OF AGONY, HATEBREED, ANTHRAX, and many more. The event will be MC'd by Jamey Jasta, lead vocalist of HATEBREED and host of MTV2's "Headbanger's Ball".
