October 17, 2010

Fan-filmed video footage of SEPULTURA guitarist Andreas Kisser's September 13, 2010 guest appearance with Brazilian singer Maria Rita at the Tom Jazz jazz club in São Paulo, Brazil can be viewed below.

Maria Rita is the daughter of famed pianist/arranger César Camargo Mariano and the late Brazilian singing legend Elis Regina and sister to Pedro Mariano and music producer João Marcelo Bôscoli.

Kisser's solo debut, "Hubris I & II", has been nominated in the "Best Brazilian Rock Album" category at the 2010 Latin Grammys, which will air live November 11 from Las Vegas on the Univision Network.

"Best Brazilian Rock Album" nominees:

* "Hubris I & II" - ANDREAS KISSER
* "Camisa 10 Joga Bola Até Na Chuva" - CHARLIE BROWN JR
* "Das Kapital" - CAPITAL INICIAL
* "Vivo Na Cena" - NASI
* "Sete Chaves" - NXZERO

"Hubris I & II" was released in June 2009 via Holland's Mascot Records. A two-disc set, the self-produced effort was recorded in part at A Voz do Brasil studio in São Paulo, Brazil.

Kisser previously stated about the album, "I'm very pleased with the result and I'm excited to hear it all done. It was a long process, a learning process and a great experience. It's a musical journey through the influences I had for last 15 years of my life and at the same time it's very different from everything I did so far."

"Hubris" comes from Greek word "hybris," which means "excessive pride, wanton violence."
