SEPULTURA Confirmed For Portugal's ROCK IN RIO – LISBON Festival

Brazilian thrashers SEPULTURA have been confirmed to appear at Portugal's Rock In Rio - Lisbon festival, according to the band's official webmaster.

SEPULTURA are scheduled to perform on June 4 alongside SLIPKNOT and METALLICA, who are headlining the day's festivities.

The fourth staging of what is considered to be the biggest music festival in the world will be held over a five-day period in late May/early June (May 29-30, June 4-6).

Also confirmed to appear at Rock In Rio – Lisbon are GUNS N' ROSES, with more acts soon to be announced.

In other SEPULTURA-related news, the band will shortly film a video for the track "Mindwar" with director Ricardo DellaRosa, who has previously worked with the group on the clip for their rendition of U2's "Bullet The Blue Sky" (which won the award for "Best Direction of Photography" at last year's "Brazilian Cinematography Association Awards" and the "MTV Brasil Video Music Awards").

SEPULTURA, who have yet to launch a North American tour in support of their "Roorback" CD, are tentatively set to embark on a tour of Brazil/South/Central America in March/April, with U.S. dates tentatively scheduled for April/May. In addition, the group are planning filming a concert in Sâo Paulo, Brazil in August/September for an upcoming double-DVD, which will reportedly feature a specially-composed soundtrack. More information will be made available soon.

SEPULTURA performed at the Planeta Atlântida festival in Florianópolis, Brazil on Friday (January 23) for an audience of more than 30,000 people. Pictures of the occasion can be viewed here.
