SCARS ON BROADWAY To Film 'World Long Gone' Video

August 16, 2008

SCARS ON BROADWAY — the new band led by SYSTEM OF A DOWN guitarist Daron Malakian and drummer John Dolmayan — will film a video for the song "World Long Gone" on Tuesday, August 19 in Southern California and want fans to be a part of it. According to a posting on the group's MySpace page, "The scene is going to be a 'burning man'-style bonfire in the desert night at a ranch in Aqua Dulce, CA. We're looking for travelers and drifter style men and women 18+, so bring a few changes of clothes that reflect a traveler's spirt and a bag to throw over your shoulder — think 'Into the Wild'… You'll be featured on camera and have the chance to work alongside the band. We won't be able to pay you, but we will provide meals and you'll be a part of this great experience with SCARS. Mail us a photo and info or a link to your MySpace page at [email protected]."

SCARS ON BROADWAY sold just under 24,000 copies of its self-titled debut album in the United States during its first week of release to debut at position No. 17 on The Billboard 200 chart. This number represents roughly 36 percent of the 66,000 opening tally registered by "Elect the Dead", the debut solo effort from SYSTEM lead singer Serj Tankian, which came out last fall through the Warner Music Group.

Both SCARS ON BROADWAY and SYSTEM lead singer Serj Tankian declined to release their latest projects through Columbia Records, where SYSTEM has been signed since 1998.

SYSTEM OF A DOWN has been on hiatus since 2006 while its members have pursued various personal projects.
