SAURON: New Album Delayed

September 14, 2004

The release date of SAURON's second full-length album, "For A Dead Race", has been pushed back to October 21 from the previously announced September 20. The delay is being blamed on "manufacturing matters."

The follow-up to 2003's "Universe Of Filth", "For A Dead Race" was recorded at Double Noise Studio and is said to be "more mature, more diverse and most of all more angry" than its predecessor. "Expect eight devastating black metal tracks with a variety of tempo changes," the Dutch black metal band write on their web site. If everything goes well, there will be an LP version released in 2005 with additional artwork and a bonus track. An MP3 of the track "The Pestilencial March" can be downloaded at this location.

SAURON recently recorded a cover of BATHORY's "The Rite of Darkness" for an upcoming tribute to BATHORY, entitled "Twilight of the Goats", to be released later this year by Black Goat Productions.
