SATYRICON: New Tour Report Posted Online

October 22, 2002

Norway's SATYRICON have posted the following tour update via their official web site at www.satyricon.no:

"That day at home made it a little bit tough to get out there again. The comfort of your own home... Stockholm was cool, with a pretty good crowd and a good turn-out. The show was recorded live by SR P3 and we're still listening to it trying to find out what can be broadcasted from it. Slight intonation problems with one of the guitars made certain songs and parts sound foul. The show was supposed to be at Göta Källäre, but it was moved to Klubben so that we could use pyro. Now the lousy Swedish promoter did not take care of the permit from the local police so we coudn't use pyro anyway! Pathetic. We did three shows in Finland. Helsinki was pretty cool and we liked playing there. Jyvyskyla was sold out and so was Turku. Jyvyskala had a strong and passionate crowd although we wore them out after an hour it seemed. Think it's the strobes...Turku's crowd was cool, but the whole place totally sucked! Shitty venue with shitty catering. Everything there was shit really. To make it better someone spilled a beer over the light mixer (this time) to make sure that we were not going to have any proper lights going until seven songs into our set. A Christian group had prayers outside the venue and police came and withdrew our parking permit for the bus and our pyro permit. The police was also present at the show, outside in uniforms and inside as civilians. It was like some baltic state. Fuck it, we're not going back there. Helsinki and Jyvyskala shall see us again though! Lund tonight (where we will show the 'Fuel For Hatred' video before the show for the first time) and then off to Denmark."
