Commented the festival's organizers in a statement: "As always, the program is complex puzzle to put together, but we can safely say that it has never been easier. All bands we have approached accepted immediately and then some.

"There are a few ingredients that need to be present for it to become a festival in true Hole in the Sky fashion: diversity, quality, exclusivity, new acts and classic acts. Hole in the Sky 2007 [is] by far the most solid and diverse program to date. NECROPHAGIST, GOJIRA, ATHEIST and CELTIC FROST have never played [the festival] before. I, the new band featuring Abbath from IMMORTAL, will premiere the new songs from their Nuclear Blast debut currently being recorded. That's a world exclusive.

"We have a strong focus on up-and-coming bands this year; GOJIRA, NECROPHAGIST, WITCHCRAFT and BURST are all on their way to metal stardom as a natural result of fantastic live shows and quality albums. Then there is SATYRICON, SAHG and KEEP OF KALESSIN making their rounds in the charts, all due to brilliantly crafted metal albums. With the classic acts, CELTIC FROST, need we say more, MY DYING BRIDE, ATHEIST, DESTRUCTION and MORBID ANGEL on board it's bound to be an unforgettable event. Having MORBID ANGEL headline the club stage is a treat beyond belief.

"Some of the bands have played the festival before. Running a festival for so long these things are impossible to avoid, but then again — why should we? As long as the bands represent quality, that's all that matters. Who gets tired of seeing bands like SLAYER and IRON MAIDEN? All in all, there's the doom and gloom, thrash — new and old, death metal, black metal, stoner, modern metal, classic metal, the whole ordeal. We can't wait."
