SAMMY HAGAR Rocks Downtown Roseville

Former VAN HALEN and current CHICKENFOOT frontman Sammy Hagar celebrated the soft opening of his new restaurant, Sammy's Rockin' Island Bar & Grill, this past Saturday, September 15 in Roseville, California.

"This is really a home run," Hagar told CBS 13. "It looks fantastic; it’s got a great vibe about it."

Roseville Mayor Pauline Roccucci presented Hagar with a key to the city and declared Saturday Sammy Hagar Day.

Roccucci hoped Hagar's restaurant would bring an economic boost to Roseville.

"I think it's going to make it a lot of fun for a lot of people," said Roccucci. "We're going to have a good time."

Hagar, who hired approximately 150 people to work at his restaurant, said that he chose Roseville as the location of for his newest restaurant because "there's something special about the old parts of cities. It's got history. It's got soul."

The money raised from Saturday’s concert will go to local charities.
