RELEVANT FEW/ABANDON Frontman Dead At 32

January 8, 2009

Vocalist Johan Carlzon of the Swedish bands RELEVANT FEW and ABANDON died on December 17, 2008 in Barcelona, Spain from a reported overdose. He was 32 years old.

The surviving members of ABANDON have issued the following statement: "Our love goes out to Johan's family and the rest of his friends and loved ones with whom we share this grief.

"To you who have spent time with or around Johan these last years and may have photos or video footage of him, paintings or notes that he's made or anything else that could be of interest to share with the rest of us, we would be very grateful if you got in touch.

"Johan passed away in Barcelona and it will cost a lot of money to bring his body back to Sweden. We're trying to scrape together as much as we can and would be deeply grateful for any donations, no matter the size.

"Our new album, 'The Dead End', will be released this year as a tribute to the unique character and amazing talent of Johan. There was none other like him."
