RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS Drummer Joins BABYMETAL For JUDAS PRIEST Medley (Video)

December 19, 2016

Japanese pop-metal sensation BABYMETAL was joined by a very special guest during their last show supporting RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS at the O2 Arena on December 18 — none other than RHCP drummer Chad Smith!

After a high-octane performance of "Gimme Chocolate!!", BABYMETAL exited the stage and darkness quickly descended upon the arena. Unnoticed by the crowd, Chad Smith replaced BABYMETAL drummer Hideki Aoyama behind the kit and performed a spectacular drum solo, disguised as a member of the Kami Band wearing corpse paint and white clothing.

Joined by their new "God Of Drums," BABYMETAL closed their final support set of the tour with a show-stopping JUDAS PRIEST medley of "Painkiller" and "Breaking The Law", with Su-Metal performing lead vocals.

At the end of the show there came another surprise, as Chad Smith reappeared with a birthday cake for Su-Metal, who celebrates her 19th birthday on December 20. The audience joined with cheering and singing "Happy Birthday", marking a very special end to a phenomenal tour and an incredible 2016 for BABYMETAL.

BABYMETAL recently announced that they will appear as special guests to METALLICA at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul, Korea on January 11, 2017 as part of their "Worldwired" world tour, as well as supporting GUNS N' ROSES in Japan in January.

BABYMETAL released a new 13-track live album, "Live At Wembley", on December 9 via earMUSIC/Edel. A digital version will be made available on December 30. With a carefully selected track listing, the CD captures the spectacular performance recorded at BABYMETAL's first-ever U.K. arena show, "Babymetal World Tour 2016 Kicks Off At The SSE Arena, Wembley", which took place in London on April 2. The show saw BABYMETAL become the first Japanese artist in history to perform a headline show at The SSE Arena, Wembley. This concert garnered an attendance of 12,000 people, where BABYMETAL also broke the merchandise sales record of the venue, creating history once again.

BABYMETAL made its U.S. late-night TV debut on "The Late Show With Stephen Colbert" in April, performing "Gimme Chocolate" off their debut album.
