February 1, 2006

Norway's Metal Express Radio had the opportunity to meet with Geoff Tate of QUEENSRŸCHE during his stop in Norway in January to discuss the upcoming release of the much-anticipated "Operation: Mindcrime II" album. The 14-minute interview is available now in streaming audio for on-demand listening at this location (Windows Media).

In this interview, Geoff Tate discusses his approach towards the musical arrangements and sound of the new "Mindcrime" album, offers insights behind his logic towards further developing the characters 20 years later, talks about the positive experience of working with Ronnie James Dio as "Doctor X", answers questions about the band's 2006 tour plans, and much, much more.

As previously reported, QUEENSRŸCHE's new single, "I'm American", will be available to radio stations for digital download on February 21. The record will go for adds in March. The North American release date of the sequel to their platinum 1988 concept album "Operation: Mindcrime" has been set for April 4. The CD mixing and mastering was completed in January and the track listing has been reworked a bit, with two new tracks having been added. "Freiheit Ouvertüre" is the infamous "intro" all the fans have been chattering about, while "Convict" is a new song that was newly added after the original track listing was announced.
