QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE To Enter The Studio In February

July 25, 2003

QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE are expected to enter the studio in February to begin recording the follow-up to 2002's "Songs for the Deaf". The band have extended their touring plans with a series of North American club dates, which will take the band through the end of October. Afterward, bassist Nick Oliveri told Billboard.com he will tour the U.S. in November and December with his side band, MONDO GENERATOR. In January, QOTSA, MONDO GENERATOR and THE DISTILLERS will team up for a trek through Australia.

"We're itching to record these new [songs], but we've said yes to these tours first," Oliveri said. "You never know in the meantime what new songs are going to come up, and you could be glad you didn't go in and record straight away. You might get a whole other record's worth of songs that are better."

Among the tracks tentatively set to appear on the as-yet-untitled CD are the following:

01. Tangled up in Plaid
02. So High So Low
03. All That I Got
04. Everyone Knows That You're Insane
05. Paper Thin
06. Skin On Skin
