"Age Of Tyranny / The Tenth Crusade" is not only symbolic as being the band's 10th studio album, but the term "Tenth Crusade" is also a rhetorical device that builds an analogy between the U.S.-led "War On Terrorism" and the historical Crusades. PRO-PAIN singer/founder Gary Meskil states: "This is about as close as we've come to creating a full fledged concept album, in that it's content never veers from what is generally being implied by the broader album title(s). He adds: "It is believed by many that our leaders are rushing us to Armageddon via a self-fulfilling prophecy which deviously mirrors that of Biblical Prophecy, and that rapture-ready Christianity remains complicit for obvious reasons. These are terrible yet interesting times. Unfortunately, not too many artists have written about it, and the ones that have, only seem to have scratched the surface. PRO-PAIN have consistently gone much deeper than that."

Formed 1991 by vocalist/bassist Gary Meskil (ex-CRUMBSUCKERS),then New York-based PRO-PAIN benefited from substantial support from MTV's "Headbanger's Ball". In 2004, the band returned to the program, clocking in regular and repeated rotation with "Can You Feel It". With guitars Tom Klimchuk, Eric Klinger (ex-THE SPUDMONSTERS) and drummer JC Dwyer (ex-PAINGOD),the band's worldwide catalog sales near 1,000,000 (one million) units.
