February 17, 2008

Copenhagen, Denmark-based metal/hardcore act PILGRIMZ will team up with MERCENARY, RAUNCHY and one more as-yet-undisclosed band for the MTV Headbanger's Ball Tour 2008 beginning on August 8 in Copenhagen. The first show of the tour will also include performances by OBITUARY and AS WE FIGHT.

PILGRIMZ has been confirmed for this year's edition of the Roskilde Festival, set to take place July 3-6 in Roskilde, Denmark.

The band recently completed work on its debut album, "Boar Riders", with producer Jacob Hansen (HATESPHERE, MNEMIC, ILLDISPOSED, INVOCATOR, RAUNCHY, MAROON) at Hansen studios in Ribe, Denmark. The CD was mixed by Tue Madsen at his Antfarm studios (THE HAUNTED, SICK OF IT ALL, HEAVEN SHALL BURN, CATARACT). Artwork duties were handled by R. Black (MISFITS, BJÖRK)

PILGRIMZ is currently negotiating a record deal. In the meantime, the band will shoot two music videos in the heart of Copenhagen to accompany the forthcoming debut. Not too many details can be revealed, but casinos, gangsters, and hot strippers are involved!

PILGRIMZ took part in the Metal Mania Tour in 2005 and in 2006 was nominated for a Danish Metal Award in the category "Best Live Act" along with HATESPHERE, MNEMIC and AS WE FIGHT.

According to a press release, PILGRIMZ' live appearance can best be described as "a schismatic and spastic display of power with references to REFUSED and THE HIVES."
