PENUMBRA Announce New Singer

May 5, 2006

French gothic metal band PENUMBRA have announced the addition of new female singer Asphodel (MySpace) to the group's ranks. "Asphodel's beautiful voice perfectly suits the new musical direction PENUMBRA has taken since their last album, 'Seclusion' [2003]," the band write on their web site. "Jarlaath [vocals/oboe] also declared that she conquered PENUMBRA with both her great vocal talent but also with her personality. Asphodel already started touring with PENUMBRA and recently debuted live in Belgium and in the Netherlands in April 2006. She proved to be able to adapt the older songs as her own and her voice completely blended with PENUMBRA's atmosphere."

PENUMBRA's "Seclusion" CD was released through the Season of Mist label.
