PAUL MCCARTNEY, Former NIRVANA Members Debut 'Cut Me Some Slack' At Sandy Concert (Video)

December 13, 2012

THE BEATLES legend Paul McCartney performed with the surviving members of NIRVANA at last night's (Wednesday, December 12) Hurricane Sandy benefit gig at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

McCartney joined Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear to play a new track titled "Cut Me Some Slack" at the 12.12.12 Concert, which also featured appearances by THE ROLLING STONES, BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN, BON JOVI, GREEN DAY, KANYE WEST and THE WHO.

Introducing the song, McCartney told the crowd: "Recently some guys asked me to go and jam with them. So I showed up... and in the middle of it, these guys kept saying, 'We haven't played together for years, you know?'

"The penny finally dropped, I finally understood that I was in the middle of a NIRVANA reunion."

The track will be available to purchase as part of a live compilation album of songs from the evening. It will also be included on the soundtrack of Grohl's new movie, "Sound City Movie".

Novoselic tweeted earlier that "Cut Me Some Slack" was "kind of 'Helter Skelter' meets 'Scentless Apprentice'. It rocks with a heavy groove. St. Paul is powerful.” Novoselic also tweeted out the photo below of himself with Grohl and Smear.
