Original JUDAS PRIEST Singer AL ATKINS Completes Work On New Solo Album

Original JUDAS PRIEST singer Al Atkins has completed work on his fifth solo album, entitled "Demon Deceiver".

The CD, which features artwork by MAGNUM bassist Al Barrow (who also runs Generic Designs),was pieced together over the last ten months with the help of South African guitarist Mike de Jager, Simon Lees (BUDGIE; once voted guitarist of the year by Guitar magazine),Brian Tatler (DIAMOND HEAD),bassist Pete Emms (THE VASELINE RATS),and drummers Adrian Badland and Mick Hales. Among the songs scheduled to appear on the album is "Drown", which is said to be a duet between Al and the Kansas-based vocalist/guitarist Johnny Lokke.

Atkins' band THE DENIAL, also featuring ex-IRON MAIDEN/PRAYING MANTIS guitarist Dennis Stratton, is currently on a break while the members pursue other projects. Al is also said to be finishing off his book he is writing about the early years of JUDAS PRIEST, entitled "Dawn of the Metal Gods".
