Original AC/DC Singer To Perform For BON SCOTT CD Launch

October 2, 2007

Paul Cashmere of Undercover News reports that Dave Evans, the original singer of AC/DC (before Bon Scott),will return to Australia next week to perform for the launch of the "Bon Scott Celebration Concert" CD.

Evans was asked by organisers at the last minute to attend the launch after advertised band SCREAMING JETS pulled out because of other commitments.

Evans will head to Perth next week to do the show with THE PARTY BOYS. He now lives in the USA.

In a statement to Undercover, Evans said "I have accepted as this is of course an honour and will be flying out of the USA on the 13th October to rehearse and then to perform at the CD launch on the 19th October before spending a week in Melbourne, before flying back to the USA as my album 'Sinner' has only just been released here".

Rockinbones.net conducted an interview with Dave Evans on September 22, 2007. Watch the 11-minute chat below.

Dave Evans recently inked a deal with Destroy All Records. The singer's current CD, "Sinner" — which originally came out in 2004 — was made available on September 25 through all "proper" distribution channels.

Commented Evans, "It's good to be a part of a label that understands the artists' needs and wants as the principals of the company are musicians themselves. Destroy All Records seems to be appropriate for the 'King of all BadAsses!!'"

A Destroy All Records spokesperson said in a statement, "We have been looking forward to adding a dynamic act and individual to our roster of artists."

Evans was a member of AC/DC from the band's inception in 1973 until 1974. Following his departure from AC/DC, Dave Evans formed the wild hedonistic rock band RABBIT, Melbourne '80s rock outfit DAVE EVANS AND THUNDER DOWN UNDER, and lastly DAVE EVANS AND HOT COCKEREL. Dave Evans has also toured as a solo act, and in 2004 released his current album, "Sinner", on Germany's Cultural Minority record label. In 2005, Dave Evans toured across Holland, Germany and Switzerland with the renowned southern rock band MOLLY HATCHET.

"Sinner", which was recorded in Newcastle, Australia and mixed in Germany, was originally issued internationally in February 2006 on Heart Attack Records.
