ORIGIN Parts Ways With Vocalist, Announces Replacement

February 18, 2010

Topeka, Kansas-based death metallers ORIGIN have issued the following update:

"ORIGIN and Extreme Management Group, Inc. are proud to announce the first set of dates for ORIGIN's 2010 spring/summer tour campaign. ORIGIN will be visiting Australia and New Zealand for the first time ever and will also be returning to Europe.

"We cannot wait to return to our European friends and fans, and look forward to meeting new people in Australia and New Zealand.

"As it's been speculated elsewhere, James Lee is no longer a part or ORIGIN. After nine-plus years with the band, it unfortunately came time for Lee and ORIGIN to part ways.

"On these tours, please welcome to the stage Mica 'Maniac' Meneke (SOL ASUNDER, ONTOGENY, THE FACELESS, LEGION VICTORIOUS) on vocals.

"We are confident that ORIGIN will raise the bar in 2010. We have a few surprises in store, so get ready."

ORIGIN's video for the song "Finite" was shot in March 2008 in a Brooklyn recording studio with acclaimed director David Brodsky (MyGoodEye),who has previously worked with such bands as GOD FORBID, SUICIDE SILENCE, STRAPPING YOUNG LAD and THE RED CHORD. The track comes off ORIGIN's latest album, "Antithesis", which was released on April 1, 2008 via Relapse Records. The CD was engineered by Rob Rebeck at Chapman Studios and was mastered by Scott Hull at Visceral Sound.

Metal Injection uploaded footage (see below) of ORIGIN performing in October 2008 at Club Rebel in New York City.
