A video clip of OPETH performing the songs "The Grand Conjuration", "Closure" and the first part of "Deliverance" live at the Rock am Ring festival in Nürburgring, Germany on Saturday, June 3 has been posted online at this location (Real Media, 50 MB). (Alternate link/site: Rapidshare.de) [Thanks to House of Séance from OPETH's official forum.]As previously reported, Roadrunner Records will be issuing a special-edition deluxe version of OPETH's latest album, "Ghost Reveries", on July 25. Bonus material on the set will include a 40-minute documentary about the making of the record complete with the band's own private tour footage, a cover of DEEP PURPLE's "Soldier of Fortune" (recorded for U.K.'s BBC radio), the video for "The Grand Conjuration", liner notes, photos, an enhanced 24-page booklet, deluxe sleeve, and 5.1 surround exclusive mix of the record made by original mixed/engineer Jens Bogren. "Ghost Reveries" has been nominated in the "Album of the year 2005" category for U.K.'s Metal Hammer magazine annual awards. The award is handed out on June 12 at London Camden's Koko. OPETH recently announced the departure of longtime drummer Martin Lopez. After being plagued by illness and anxiety attacks, Lopez decided he wanted to concentrate fully on his own project, currently unnamed. His replacement will be Martin "Axe" Axenrot, who's been filling in for the last five tours and who also recorded with the band during the recent BBC sessions.
