ONSLAUGHT Announces New Guitarist

February 2, 2008

Reactivated British thrashers ONSLAUGHT have confirmed the departure of guitarist Alan Jordan. A replacement axeman has already been recruited in the shape of "awesome new shredder" Andy Rosser-Davies.

Commented ONSLAUGHT guitarist Nige Rockett: "Unfortunately, Al was unable to commit to any touring with the band as from late last year due to personal circumstances. Live shows are what we are all about, so the situation was unworkable.

"As many of our German fans will know, Andy came in at very short notice to play on the tour with EKTOMORF and did a fantastic job. He is a phenemenal guitar player with a very aggressive style which suits ONSLAUGHT perfectly. We were stoked when he accepted our offer.

"It was a pity Al had to go at such a positive time, but sometimes I guess these things happen and we will move on to bigger and better things. We all wish him and his family all the best in his new career."

Jordan released the following statement to BLABBERMOUTH.NET regarding his departure from ONSLAUGHT:

"It is with immediate effect that I will no longer be a part of ONSLAUGHT. I had the best part of three very happy years with the band and recorded what I considered to be a great album and DVD, both of which I'm very proud to be a part of.

"Some internal circumstances within ONSLAUGHT changed and certain ideas were moving in a very different direction to what I envisaged.

"I have no long-term plans at this moment in time, but would like to thank all the fans across the globe that I have met and spent time with. Respect to you all."

ONSLAUGHT released its first live DVD, "Live Polish Assault 2007", in July 2007 via Metal Mind Productions. The disc contains more than an hour of veritable thrash mayhem filmed during the band's gig on February 12, 2007 at the Stodola Club in Warsaw, Poland. The DVD also includes an interview with guitarist Nige Rockett and vocalist Sy Keeler, bonus live video footage from the band's gigs in Japan and Holland, as also bonus audio tracks from the gig at Bristol Colston Hall in 1987 (featuring ONSLAUGHT's very first live performance of "Let There Be Rock")!

ONSLAUGHT's new album, "Killing Peace", was released in March 2007 via Candlelight Records. The CD was recorded at Backstage studio in Derbyshire, England with producer Andy Sneap (MEGADETH, MACHINE HEAD, ARCH ENEMY, NEVERMORE).
