OBSCURA Parts Ways With Guitarist, Seeks Replacement

January 21, 2007

Guitarist Markus Lempsch has left German death metal band OBSCURA. Lempsch has issued the following statement on the matter:

"Due to scheduling conflicts and other obligations I decided to take a break from OBSCURA. It was a hard decision, but I am not able to dedicate the time and energy that's needed right now. The other guys just started searching for a replacement and those guitarists who're interested in playing technical death metal should feel free to contact [email protected]. What OBSCURA is asking for is skills, professional attitude, experience, creativity, quality equipment, the ability to play shows and tours and dedication to the band's aims. Thanx to all those who supported us so far and helped to make our European tour with SUFFOCATION a success."

Released last year, OBSCURA's debut album, "Retribution", was produced by Alex Krull (ATROCITY, LEAVES' EYES) and includes guest appearances by V. Santura (DARK FORTRESS),Matthias Röderer (ATROCITY),Thorsten Bauer (ATROCITY) and Martl (PROFANITY). The cover artwork was created by Timo Wuerz.
