Norwegian/American Black Metallers SYSTEM:OBSCURE Begin Recording Debut Album

According to Rockdetector.com, SYSTEM:OBSCURE — the band consisting of Balfori (a.k.a. Lars Larsen) of LUNARIS, ALVHEIM and 1349 on vocals, Steinar Gundersen of SPIRAL ARCHITECT and SATYRICON on guitar, Lars Norberg of SPIRAL ARCHITECT, ANESTHESIA and SATYRICON on fretless bass, "world famous jazz/fusion mastermind" Bugge Wesseltoft on the Hammond organ, and Tony Laureano of NILE, ACHERON, AURORA BOREALIS, GOD DETHRONED, MALEVOLENT CREATION, DIMMU BORGIR and ANGELCORPSE on drums — has entered the studio to begin recording its debut album. The band states ambitiously: "The result is astounding. This is music that defies categorization, but nevertheless will appeal to any fan of blistering metal. This is music for the future."

Playing a musical style self-described as "savagely innovative" black metal, SYSTEM:OBSCURE was announced in vague terms during August 2005, after which the group cut a three-track demo and appeared at the Norwegian Inferno festival in 2006.
