NIKKI SIXX: 'Those Who Forget The Past Are Destined To Relive It'

July 14, 2003

MÖTLEY CRÜE/BRIDES OF DESTRUCTION bassist Nikki Sixx has posted the following message to the "Rock'n'Roll Diary" section of CRÜE's official web site:

"Blessed are the demons that make us fight to survive our past. I sometimes wonder how far I could of gone if what was pushing me didn't sting like a whip across my back. Funny how fate works. It's even funnier how karma doesn't always burn those who deserve to be burnt at the cross, but teaches the teacher the lesson of patience and forgiveness. Striving for the best and expecting the worst is a mantra I should've tattooed across my face along time ago. Yet faith without works is futile, so we trudge. Along the way we see that what is meant to be will be. I love to give my will over. But I admit to having a tug of war daily with my will and my desires. I am where I am supposed to be. Silly to try to control…because the truth is…we cannot. Those who forget the past are destined to relive it…

"Summer is here in all its glory.. The sound of the Santa Monica Mountains [is] intoxicating. It takes me back to being a kid in the country. Idaho is good for the stillness of night and the monotony of day when you're a dreamer. A lot like Chinese water torture. A lot like these Santa Monica mountains I'm sitting at the base of in my backyard right now. You learn to listen to your heart. You learn to expect a sudden shift in the earth or better yet, you learn to unlearn.

"My life is….in this order.

1.Sobriety
2.Family
3.Work
3 is >>>Not in any order….

"We're going to have a fucking wild party at the galaxy theatre in Orange County California on July 26. It's put on by club Rubber and I trust it will be as sick as all their parties. This is a Dragonfly/N.Sixx clothing party and I look forward to hanging out with who ever comes down. Orange County is a hotbed for our lifestyle (used to be Hollywood along time ago) so it seems fitting to have it there…

"As I sit here the moon is creeping above the mountains, I imagine if I sit here long enuff a song will slip into my head and ill grab my guitar and receive the message… after all I'm just the messenger… Sixx"
