NIGHTWISH's MARCO HIETALA Discusses TAROT's 'Gravity Of Light' CD In New Audio Interview

July 18, 2010

On July 11, Aniruddh "Andrew" Bansal of Metal Assault conducted an interview with bassist/vocalist Marco Hietala (TAROT, NIGHTWISH, SINERGY). You can now listen to the chat in two parts below.

"I Walk Forever", the new video from TAROT, can be viewed below. The clip was shot in Cairo, Egypt. The song comes off the band's ninth studio album, "Gravity Of Light", which entered the official chart in TAROT's home country at position No. 2. This is the highest-ever chart position for the group in Finland.

"Gravity Of Light" was released outside Finland on April 23 via Nuclear Blast Records.

The track listing for the CD is as follows:

01. Satan Is Dead
02. Hell Knows
03. Rise!
04. The Pilot Of All Dreams
05. Magic And Technology
06. Calling Down The Rain
07. Caught In The Deadlights
08. I Walk Forever
09. Sleep In The Dark
10. Gone

Most of the demo work for "Gravity Of Light" was done in August and September 2009 by Marco Hietala, Zachary Hietala and Janne Tolsa, the main writers of the band. The actual recordings for the album started immediately after that in November 2009. Mixing was done by Janne and Mikko Tegelman and the mastering by Mika Jussila at Finnvox studios in January and February 2010.

According to a press release, "The album feels like meeting an old friend. Some things are the same, but your friend has gained weight. He shows new scars, and tattoos. The beard is longer and he projects a meaner and faster temper. At the same time there's still a big heart at the center. The blood might rush to your head when your friend takes you to a weightless sauna orbiting the sun.

"When you hear 'Gravity Of Light', you will believe."

TAROT has been confirmed for this year's ProgPower USA XI festival, set to take place September 8-11 in Atlanta, Georgia.

"Undead Indeed", the latest DVD from TAROT, topped the Music DVD chart in Finland in its first week of release.

The two-DVD and two-CD versions of "Undead Indeed" were made available in Finland on June 11, 2008.

"Undead Indeed" was filmed/recorded on August 17, 2007 at club Rupla in Kuopio, Finland with director Harri Mielonen.
