NIGHTWISH Cancel First Three Shows Of North American Tour

August 10, 2004

NIGHTWISH have been forced to cancel the first three shows of their North American tour (Toronto, Montreal and Philadelphia) after failing to secure their visas in time for the tour's kick-off date.

"Our U.S. visa applications were filed early enough at the end of March 2004, so the U.S. immigration office is the one responsible for not being able to handle these applications within this 4.5 months of time," commented NIGHTWISH keyboardist Tuomas Holopainen. "There was never anything we could have done but wish for some co-operation from their side. The result is as seen.

"We are very sorry for this and we understand that many of you are pissed. So are we. Big time. Naturally we will do everything we can to make this up and as soon as possible.

"The rest of the U.S. shows will happen as scheduled."

The affected dates are as follows:

Aug. 16 - The Guverment – Toronto, ONT
Aug. 17 - Metropolis - Montreal, QUE
Aug. 19 - Trocadero – Philadelphia, PA
