New NINE INCH NAILS Members Speak Out

February 6, 2005

Sp1at.com recently conducted brief interviews with new NINE INCH NAILS members Aaron North (guitar, ex-THE ICARUS LINE) and Alessandro Cortini (keyboards). Several interview excerpts follow:

Sp1at.com: What is the status between you and THE ICARUS LINE?

Aaron North: "I quit the band. I was over it. I did not quit THE ICARUS LINE to join NINE INCH NAILS, I quit THE ICARUS LINE about a month before I started playing with NIN."

Sp1at.com: Have you heard the new NIN album, and if so, what are your favorite tracks?

Aaron North: "I have... and I'm not going to tell you. I will say that it is an amazing and inspiring record. Really fun stuff to play."

Sp1at.com: You piss on Robin Finck's shoes, according to Trent [Reznor]. What do you think of that?

Aaron North: "I don't know. It's apples and oranges. My style and approach to guitar is nothing like that dude's. I've only seen him play once... when my old band played a festival in Japan with GUNS N' ROSES... he seems like a great guitar player, but like i said, apples and oranges."

Sp1at.com: How did the NINE INCH NAILS thing come about?

Alessandro Cortini: "I saw a flyer for the audition and I went for it.

Sp1at.com: Have you heard the new NINE INCH NAILS album, and if so, what are your favourite tracks and why?

Alessandro Cortini: "I listen to it everyday, and soon you will too..."

Sp1at.com: The first single from "With Teeth" has been confirmed as "The Hand that Feeds". Would that have been your first choice of single?

Alessandro Cortini: "I am not good at picking singles."

Sp1at.com: Which festivals are you looking forward to doing this year and which countries are you looking forward to visiting?

Alessandro Cortini: "I am looking forward to any and all the shows we'll be playing this year. It is going to be a blast."

Check out both interviews at Sp1at.com.
