NEUROTICA Reunites For Florida Concert; Photos Available

September 1, 2007

NEUROTICA kicked off Labor Day weekend last night (Friday, August 31) by reuniting for a special show at Gallery Billiards in Sarasota, Florida. This marked the group's first performance in seven years with original drummer G.J. Gosman, who played on all of the NEUROTICA records.

Ken Heavenridge of Imagine Pro Photography, who attended last night's concert, said, "The show last night by the reformed NEUROTICA was incredible! A blistering set of all the favorites topped off with a great version of the hidden track off the 'Living in Dog Years' record [1999] called 'Frightening' which featured a killer didgeridoo player, and djembe drummer as well as a fire dancer. The Gallery club was packed with locals as well as many from out of town who flew in for the reunion show. The encore was a cover of 'I am the Walrus' by THE BEATLES and was heard requested by fans all evening. Kelly [Shaefer, vocals] and the guys looked and sounded tight and other than some mic and monitor problems, the band really seemed to gel."

Prior to last night's performance, NEUROTICA frontman Kelly Shaefer, who recently completed a slew of reunion performances with the technical metal pioneers ATHEIST, stated, "After an amazing year with the reunion of ATHEIST, I am so excited that the time has come to put this band back on stage and see how it feels."

He added, "We went through a lot of shit as a band during those days, and it was a tough ride, but we have all grown from that, and I look forward to crushing on stage with my good friends again."

NEUROTICA finished out in 2002 with a slew of roaring performances on Ozzfest, which led to Rolling Stone magazine calling the group one of the 10 best bands to see on the festival.

NEUROTICA is working on a European release of a collection of songs from the band's two domestic CDs, "Seed" (produced by AC/DC's Brian Johnson) and 2002's self-titled album. "We hope to have a deal in place to get it on shelves by spring 2008," said Shaefer.
