NEEDLEMOUTH Calls It Quits

October 25, 2007

Huntington Beach, California-based industrial/metal band NEEDLEMOUTH has called it quits. The group, which was formed in 2004 by James Shomo with surviving members of VYNEGAR, released its only six-song recording on Perversion Records, "Rituals and Consequences", in October 2006. The group quickly forged out a name in the SoCal scene with many successful shows up and down Los Angeles, Orange County and San Diego before founding members left in April 2007 due to personal and creative differences. Vocalist Jim Harnish and drummer Tony Rhoden continued to push on with new members Mike Nissen (bass),Brent Emerson (guitar),Jay Golden (violin) and Steven Burrows (samples). The new NEEDLEMOUTH incorporated a six-string electric violin and remained intact until September 2007 when the pressures of collaboration, leadership and expectation eventually took their toll on the band.

In its lifetime, NEEDLEMOUTH played 38 shows with bands like ANKLA, HED(P.E.), GODHEAD, SCUM OF THE EARTH, DROID and ASESINO.
