MY RUIN Parts Ways With Drummer, Announces Replacement

January 3, 2008

MY RUIN frontwoman Tarrie B has issued the following update:

"Matt [LeChevalier, drums] is no longer in MY RUIN. Before you think what we KNOW you must be thinking, let me explain....because there are no hard feelings.

"Matt joined MY RUIN in 2005 right after we released our last album, 'The Brutal Language'. We were coming off a very long tour in the States with someone in our band who we needed to replace immediately. Matt spent two years with us touring, recording the new album and making our new video for 'Ready For Blood'. We always knew that his time with our band was limited because he is a French citizen and there were both visa and personal issues he had to deal with which had nothing to do with our band.

"Matt is an amazing drummer. He helped us to create the most personal and powerful album we have ever made. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors and will always have a special place for him in our hearts and remember his time with MY RUIN fondly.

"Now it's time for our NEXT announcement.....

"For the past two months we have been in the studio rehearsing for our UK tour with someone very special to us (especially to ME!). Some of you may remember him and many of you are about to meet for the first time in January. His name is Marcelo Palomino. You might remember Celo as my former drummer in both MANHOLE and TURA SATANA. We have been friends for many years and over those years, he has become like a brother to me and is family to the band.

"When I started MY RUIN in 1999 I actually asked Celo to be my drummer as I toured the 'Speak & Destroy' album in the UK.

"It's funny how things have come around full circle.

"Celo is a killer drummer, always has been, and there is a connection than runs deeply between us musically. We grew up on the road touring together for many years all over the world. We had no idea what it would be like after so long apart but it feels natural with him playing in the band. Just cool and really fun for all of us. The band sounds tight and we're counting down the days.

"We hope this was a great surprise for everyone and you are all just as excited to see Marcelo on stage with us as we are having him. It's been great so far and our setlist is pretty intense. So get ready!!!"

MY RUIN's new album, "Throat Full of Heart", is due this month via the band's own imprint label Rovena Recordings in association with Cargo Records UK. The CD was co-produced by MY RUIN guitarist Mick Murphy and Duane Burda. The disc also includes the music video for the song "Ready for Blood", directed by Ben Le Vine, with a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the video along with a mini-movie of MY RUIN with never-before-seen footage of the band in the studio during the recording sessions for the new album as well as a personal photo/video film created by Miss B, titled "Through The Wound", which documents her accident from the injury to her recovery this past year.
