MUNICIPAL WASTE's RYAN WASTE Launches VOLTURE

April 1, 2010

Starting in early 2009 in between a rigorous MUNICIPAL WASTE touring schedule, guitarist Ryan Waste began working on a new project entitled VOLTURE. As a longtime fan of bands like MERCYFUL FATE, HEAVY LOAD, and JUDAS PRIEST he thought it would only be approproate to form a proper band in that vein. With only a few rehearsals it quickly became a reality and the electricity of VOLTURE is currently spreading fast!

"Ever since I was a young headbanger, I dreamed of doing a real heavy metal band," Ryan said. "Growing up on JUDAS PRIEST and eventually delving into more obscure NWOBHM bands, I yearned to have one of my own. It wasn't until 8 years ago when I met our vocalist, Brent Hubbard, that I thought this would actually be possible. His natural singing ability floored me upon the first note and I knew we needed to start a band. It's been a long time coming, but I am proud to say we have arrived in full force to shock the world with VOLTURE! In this heavy metal ensemble, I returned to my musical roots as a bass player alongside the phenomenal shredder Nick Poulos on guitar. Joined by veteran Barry Cover behind the kit, we are now stronger than ever."

VOLTURE is in the process of recording a six-song mini-LP entitled "Shocking Its Prey".
