MUDVAYNE Rumored To Be Opening For KORN On U.S. Tour

January 12, 2006

Launch Radio Networks reports: KORN will hold a press conference tomorrow (Friday, January 13) to announce the details of its upcoming North American tour. The band will convene at 4:00 p.m. at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles for the event. The graveyard was founded in 1899 and is the final resting place for hundreds of Hollywood stars. KORN's tour is expected to begin in late February and extend into April. 10 YEARS is already confirmed as one of the opening acts, with MUDVAYNE rumored to be the middle band on the bill.

KORN will be accompanied on this trek by guitarist Rob Patterson, who will play former member Brian "Head" Welch's parts but will not appear onstage. Guitarist James "Munky" Shaffer told Launch that he found Patterson through a common friend. "I knew he played guitar, you know, and then my friend said, 'Hey, you really should give Rob a chance at the gig, 'cause I know you're gonna need a rhythm guitar player to do these shows and recreate the old stuff and need him for the new stuff,'" he said. "And I brought two people in the studio. I kind of prepped him one day and the other guy I prepped for about a week, and Rob got the gig."

"See You On The Other Side" came out on December 6, debuting at No. 3 on The Billboard 200. It sits at No. 24 this week with nearly 566,000 copies sold in five weeks of release.

"Coming Undone" has been selected as the next single from the album, following up "Twisted Transistor".
