MUCOPUS Part Ways With Singer, Complete Work On Full-Length Debut

April 26, 2005

New York-based old-school death metallers MUCOPUS have parted ways with frontman Rich Manzillo. Current SKINLESS singer Jason Keyser will be handling the vocal duties for MUCOPUS' appearance at the Tokyo Deathfest in Japan, while former SKINLESS vocalist Sherwood Webber will be joining MUCOPUS for a special one-off performance on May 8 at the Hudson Duster in Troy, NY. Also appearing on the bill will be SKINLESS, CEPHALIC CARNAGE, and HELD UNDER.

MUCOPUS, who have yet to announce a permanent replacement for Manzillo, recently completed the recording sessions for their full-length debut with Darren Cesca (GORATORY, PILLORY) and Dave Schaeffer (VIRULENCE, THOSE WHO WAIT) at The Slaughterhouse in Rock City Falls, NY. Colin Davis of Imperial Mastering (GORATORY, VILE, DISGORGE, ORIGIN) will be taking on mastering duties for the CD.

MUCOPUS are currently shopping around for a record deal and hope to get the CD released later in the year.

In other news, MUCOPUS drummer Kyle Eddy will be joining INTERNAL BLEEDING for their two-month-long tour with BODIES IN THE GEARS OF THE APPARATUS and STRONG INTENTION.
