MUCOPUS: In Writing Mode

December 24, 2006

Vocalist Jason Keyser of the New York-based old-school death metallers MUCOPUS has issued the following update:

"We are in the process of writing our untitled new full-length record for extreme Czech label Nice To Eat You Records that will be out in the summer of 2007. Our plan is to record the majority of the record at Shaark Studios (MASTER, ROOT, FLESHLESS, etc.) in Brno, CZ and have it released at Obscene Extreme 2007. Yes you heard correctly, we are playing the world famous Obscene Extreme open-air festival in Trutnov, CZ next July 2007, as well as Deathfeast open-air in Germany and a handful of other shows that we're in the process of booking.

"As far as shows in the U.S go, we have one show booked for March 10th in Albany, NY at Valentine's (the first show we've played in our area in almost a year!) with CLITORTURE, SEXCREMENT and ANIMAL RAMPAGE."

MUCOPUS earlier in the year recorded pre-production material for its upcoming full-length album, which will appear on a split with Czech grinders MINCING FURY AND GUTTURAL CLAMOUR OF QUEER DECAY on U.K.-based label Grindethic Records. The split will tentatively consist of the new pre-production tracks, some live tracks from MUCOPUS' 2005 Tokyo Deathfest appearance, plus some extra surprises and bonus live and demo material from M.F.A.G.C.O.Q.D. To preview some of the new material, check out MUCOPUS' MySpace page.
