MR. BIG/Ex-ACE FREHLEY Drummer MATT STARR And Producer WARREN HUART Release Educational DVD

November 19, 2016

Drummer Matt Starr (ACE FREHLEY, MR. BIG) and producer Warren Huart (AEROSMITH, ACE FREHLEY) have released a DVD through ProMix Academy, "Producing And Recording Drums With Matt Starr".

The DVD is an educational recording experience. It features an entire day of production and recording with Starr from start to finish; including how to select the right drums, microphones and gear, hearing the song for the first time, making creative decisions and wrapping up with the finished product.

Starr and Huart first met during the production of Frehley's "Space Invader" CD, which reached No. 9 on the Billboard chart and sold over 20,000 copies the first week. More recently, they worked on Frehley's "Origins Vol. 1", which features a cover of FREE's classic hit "Fire & Water" with KISS frontman Paul Stanley, Frehley, Starr and then-THE CULT bassist Chris Wyse. This was the first time Stanley and Frehley had recorded together in over a decade.

Starr says: "Every time Warren and I did a session together, we spent as much time chatting about music, career and family as we did actual recording. It seemed inevitable that we would work together beyond making records.

"Educating and empowering other musicians around the world is something very important to us. I'm very pleased with the DVD and am excited about future endeavors with Warren."

When asked why Warren chose Matt for this DVD, Warren replied: "Matt's sensibilities are perfect in every setting. You know he's a true fan of music, crossing all genres. He's the complete package, a world-class drummer, songwriter and singer who brings a wealth of musical knowledge and ability to every session."

The DVD is now available at PMAProducts.net.
