MÖTLEY CRÜE's VINCE NEIL Named Honorary Crew Member At Las Vegas Motor Speedway

March 18, 2014

According to Jayski.com, MÖTLEY CRÜE singer Vince Neil was named an honorary crew member of NASCAR driver Carl Edwards and the #99 team at Las Vegas Motor Speedway earlier in the month.

Neil, a Vegas resident, participated in a variety of track activities throughout the day, including a visit to the Sprint Experience with Carl Edwards and comedian Carrot Top. He continued to shadow Edwards during the day making his way to the driver meeting and introductions before heading to pit road to watch Edwards and the "crue" turn in a strong fifth-place finish.

A former racer himself, Neil joined the crew members for lunch during the day and even took time to meet with guys at the pit box pre-race for some added motivation.

"It was cool to have Vince Neil with us last weekend at the track," stated Mike Lingerfelt, front tire changer for the No. 99 Ford. "Besides being a talented musician, he is a great person and fun to hang out with."

The team decided that it would be a great idea to expand upon this newfound relationship at the upcoming Food City 500 in Bristol this weekend. They selected one of MÖTLEY CRÜE's most recognizable songs, "Kickstart My Heart", to be used in driver introductions when Edwards took the stage on Sunday.

Check out what Vince had to say about the crew's choice in the clip below.
