MOTÖRHEAD Drummer To Perform At Swedish Eurovision Song Contest!

MOTÖRHEAD drummer Mikkey Dee will perform live at the "Swedish Eurovision Song Contest" in Gothenburg on Saturday, February 28. He will join Swedish Euro-pop superstar E-TYPE, who is competing with a brand new song, "Paradise", produced by highly respected pop/rock producer Max Martin (BACKSTREET BOYS, BRITNEY SPEARS, BON JOVI, PAIN).

"Mikkey Dee played on my last tour when I performed my hits in a hard rock style," E-TYPE told Swedish newspaper Expressen. "We've known each other for ten years and thought this would be a cool thing to do. Of course it's huge."

E-TYPE has been one of the country's most successful artists over the past decade, with record sales in the million range. E-TYPE (real name Martin Eriksson) himself was a metal drummer in the Eighties, playing with the thrash/power metal combo HEXENHAUS.

Dee had previously toured with E-TYPE in early 2003 as part of the "Euro Metal Tour 2003" (band photo, live photos),which saw the group performing "thundering heavy metal" versions of all the biggest E-TYPE dance hits.

The "Swedish Eurovision Song Contest" is the highest-rated TV show in Sweden and is viewed by half the country's population of nine million people.
